Move mature trees out of harm’s way during construction, then move them back to the right place at the right time.
Tree Spade Process:
On moving day, the plug of soil where the tree is to be placed is removed and taken away.
The tree spade digs the tree from its existing location along with a 90-inch root ball. This root ball may easily weigh up to 6 tons.
The tree is lowered into its new location and the blades of the tree spade are raised. Usually the root ball is set slightly higher than its original depth to quicken root growth into the surrounding soil.
After transplanting the only care required is watering.
